Members will no doubt recall that in the January 2008 Newsletter I said that Neil Buscombe, who after many seasons as our fixtures secretary, would be standing down from the end of the winter season 2007/2008.
I said then that we had not identified a candidate to fulfil this role on the Tennis Committee. This is still the case. We were very fortunate that Neil Buscombe and Kim Martin continued to do the fixtures secretary’s duties during the summer 2008 and have agreed to do so for the winter 2008/2009 for which we must thank them.
If you are able and willing to take over this role from the summer 2009 please let me know.

As a committee we welcome your comments and one of the best ways to question the committee, even to effect change and bring forward your own points, comes at the AGM in November, so do please come along and join the debates. We would welcome your proposals and are actively seeking new committee members to take over from those resigning.

I have just completed yet another successful summer camp in August for local school children aged between 5 and 11 years. The weather was challenging but as usual the children were enthusiastic and all 4 days were completed without any rain breaks! A big thank you to all my helpers, especially Pam Cooper for her continued hard work.
I am continuing to coach on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays throughout the day, all squads are busy with waiting lists as are the individual slots.
Well done to Cameron Crawford –Smith for reaching the U12 Boys Singles Final, and to Nick Luen for winning the U15 Boys Singles Final.
